I’m happy to say that the first entrepreneur rule I’m going to work on is #2, “Entrepreneurs prioritize their diet and nutrition”. My friend is flying up from Florida and he owns a CrossFit Gym in St. Petersburg. He broke it down to me pretty simple. He said diet and nutrition isn’t as hard as what people make it to be. CrossFit’s motto is “Constantly varied, functional movements, performed at high intensity”. As simple as it sounds it makes sense considering the basic type font of their logo.
He said first you need to find a gym that is going to cater to your needs. Just like an entrepreneur you need to prioritize what is important now and try to establish some short term goals to accomplish first.
I did some research and it appears that my first action of making focus steps towards fitness is cleaning out my fridge and filling it with whole foods. I didn’t realize how many processed foods I had inside my freezer.
We started breaking down a cool diet called the Zone diet. It breaks down food in to the three macronutrients. Protein which equals 7 grams, Carbs which equals 9 grams and fat which is 1.5 grams because it’s calorically more dense than it’s counter parts. This anti-inflammation diet has worked for thousands of clients and I’m excited to try it out as well.
We’re going to try and find a box in the California area, but he said when looking for a Crossfit Gym, it’s imperative that you focus on safety, goals and knowledge of the coaches.
Speaking to him on the phone really brought back some awesome memories and I’m glad he’s coming to town. If you’re ever in the St. Petersburg area and looking to get a good workout give him a ring at www.spscgym.com to show them support. What I’m most excited about it the opportunity to hangout with some old friends, but also work on becoming more fit and mentally focussed on becoming a great entrepreneur and leader one day.
This is the first step of many and I’ll let you all know how it goes!
Figured I’d pick up where I left off. I got some positive feedback from a friend of mine and he said while my writing is fine, I could benefit from serious formatting. I took it as constructive criticism and a chance to actually make myself better at my blog posts. So without further adieu, here are the remaining 5 things that the best entrepreneurs do to enhance themselves in their industry.
Top entrepreneur know their strengths and their weaknesses. My strength is seeking on how to be better. I am never satisfied with being subpar. This is why I reached out to my friend and we may be setting up a trip to where we can work on my health and nutrition. It’s a small start, but I’m excited for the opportunity to be better.
Entrepreneurs are always learning. It’s funny because this is my strength. I didn’t realize it until I read this article, but like I mentioned in number 1, it’s something I’m very passionate about. I will always strive to learn more and be better than the competition.
Entrepreneurs hire A-team players. I can’t say I’ve been in this situation before. However, in school I try to work with groups who are about working hard for each other and not just themselves. I believe in sharing the workload especially if it makes us more efficient.
Entrepreneurs are always looking for opportunities. It feels like a lot of these top ten characteristics are things I do on a daily basis. I’ve really enjoyed reading this article, but my blog is getting fairly long so I’m going to bring this to a close with one more rule.
Entrepreneurs evaluate their priorities each day. This goes without saying, but you have to ask your what is important now. If I’m going to be successful, happy, and spending time with my family, at the end of the day I need to continue to work hard and focus on whats important now.
I’m a big advocate of reading articles and to improve m education I decided to do a little research on what it takes to become an entrepreneur. I went to (www.entrepreneur.com) and I found a great article describing ten different things the top entrepreneurs in the country do every day to become better at what they do. I’m not going to discuss all ten rules, but I will go over five of them with you.
The first one is that the top guys and gals always plan out their day in advance. If I’m being honest this is something I’ve been going for the past 4 weeks. I planned on writing this blog 3 days before it was written. I decided I wanted to have the article, idea, blog post already planned out and scheduled so It would post easier for me. I think if you know where you’re going in advance it makes thinking a lot easier if you know what I mean?
Number two is working on diet and exercise. I’ll be honest with myself, I’m already looking for great gyms to go to. I’ve been considering jumping into Crossfit. A friend of mine owns a gym in florida, but that doesn’t do me any good here in California. I’ll certainly reach out to them to get an idea of what I’ll be getting myself into in the next couple of days.
Number three is positioning themselves to serve. I said this in the article before , but it’s so important to create opportunities for others before creating opportunities for yourself. I truly believe that the more jobs you create the more money YOU make! Let that sink in.
Number four is setting clear goals. Similar to Number one, but if you don’t know where you want to go, how to you expect to get anything done?
Number five is taking calculated risks. So, sometimes this one is tough for me because sometimes I act on emotion and not calculated risk. It’s easy to act now and not thinking about the consequences, but lately I’ve been making some serious investments and I continually pray to God that they pay off.
In closing here is a cool video about what it takes to get the job done.
Finally got around to planning some content, so I figured my first post would be a little bit about me. My name is Matthew Birns with an ‘i’ not a ‘u’ , but it still sounds the same. I want to take the world, by storm.
One day I’ll be a big CEO making big shots and helping a lot of people. Right now I’m at the bottom of the totem pole taking classes in school, but I’m thinking about dropping out. Now before you get on your high horse and think that it’s a bad idea, you have to really break down the statistics. Jobs are at an all time low, school debt is higher than it’s ever been and maybe it’s just me, but I feel like the world is severely lacking creativity.
I believe the key to success is creating more jobs. The more jobs I create then the more business I make. I hope that makes sense.
While studying in school I learned a couple of things. One, don’t depend on your teachers. They’re there to help you understand some things, but at the end of the day they’re not teaching you the most important thing you’re gonna need in life like paying taxes, managing your mortgage, or your credit score. You’ll be knee deep in responding to emails at work before you know it. Two, they’re gloried babysitters guys. I don’t need another grown person teaching me how to behave at work, sit in my desk, and be exited about “wearing jeans” on friday.
Sorry for my small tangent as sometimes I feel like everyone is against me. (I know it’s just me on this one). I read a book about patience and I’ve been working on it, but sometimes I’m just a wild kid who likes to get stuff done as quick as possible!
I’m excited about this blog. I will get super passionate about random things, but I promise to stay on it and not fall off in a couple of days. I’m fully invested in my future and can’t wait till my “casual friday” is my super freaking “casual life”.
Hey everyone, welcome to my new website called The Midnight Empire Band. I’m here on the grind, because I’m ready to drive fancy cars, buy big mansions, and start a family with the woman of my dreams! Of course hard work and determination will make these dreams come true and I’m excited to grow my empire one night at a time!
